Guilt leads to spiritual death. Forgiveness and love erases our flaws and hands us grace and strength to correct them.
Our weaknesses are not supposed to remain the same but to be strengthened. We when are able to look in the mirror and take responsibility for our actions we are then able to take the next step in the process of growth which is forgiveness.
Shame and condemnation lead us on a road to no where. Like it is up to us to take responsibility it is also up to us to receive forgiveness and love. Never continuously beat yourself up over a mistake; this is only penalizing yourself over and over for the same crime. Instead learn from your past and apply those lessons to your future.
Remember you are forgiven and loved by God but you have to forgive and love yourself in order to receive His love and plan for your life.
